I have fond memories of this hut. It was the first one I visited in the Tararuas in 1976.
I well remember the rat in my mattress that had to be killed before bedtime!

How many hours does it take to walk there????
About 3-3.5 hours, from memory. All uphill.
Lots of goats & deer up that way.
