Ngawha Springs

Spent the day at the hot pools today. It was great to see something rough and ready- not overdeveloped for the delicate sensitivities of the tourist market. Wooden sides to the pools and real mud and sand in them! Nothing matched or was pretty and it had the DIY appeal of the classic NZ bach- before they were torn down and replaced by million dollar McMansions.

$4 for adults and a buck each for the boys.

We will return. This is the first time in many years that I have been pain-free while being totally sober!

And I must say I prefer smelling of sulfur to smelling of chlorine by-products...
